Hinterland is an agricultural retail company built on traditional values and driven by innovative solutions. Established in 2013 with its head office in Klerksdorp, Hinterland represents the coming together of two of South Africa’s agriculture giants; Senwes and AFGRI. Agricultural producers and general customers and clients are serviced through the AFGRI Town&Country and Senwes Village retail branches and with the support of our established infrastructure, relationship managers, expertise and an inclusive range of products and services.

Hinterland is geographically positioned to service most of the South African summer grain production region, with 59 retail branches representing a footprint in six provinces: Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, North West and the Free State.

The Hinterland branch infrastructure on local level is divided into four regions consisting of the Northern, Western and Southern regions – each with a regional manager who takes full responsibility for marketing, operational issues as well as relationship management, personnel management and financial performance of the region in cooperation with their respective branch managers and relationship managers.

Hinterland’s slogan, “Rediscover what matters”, is epitomised in the promise of a friendly platteland hospitality shopping experience combined with a one-stop-shop service where you can find all your gardening, hardware, DIY, agriculture and outdoors supplies and services under one roof.
