The individuals who make up the team possess a set of skills which perfectly compliment one another’s talents to deliver efficient management of the business.

Daan

DAAN BRONKHORST

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Daan started his retail career as a pharmacist in Klerksdorp. He spent some time in different senior positions in the FMCG and building sector, before joining Hinterland in February 2016. Daan has a passion for success and to add value to customers and staff whilst being part of a winning team, building a sustainable business.

KOBUS MEINTJES

FINANCIAL DIRECTOR

Kobus has served in several senior financial management positions in the manufacturing, mining, agricultural and commodity trading industries and has been the financial director of Prodist (Pty) Ltd, a supplier and distributor of wholesale agricultural, hardware, outdoor and general products since 2014. Kobus was appointed as Hinterland's financial director on 1 August 2018 and will build on the success of the business and expand it into a world-class business with the rest of the staff.

RUPERT JACOBS

MANAGER: CORPORATE MARKETING AND RETAIL DEVELOPMENT

Rupert has held several senior positions in sales, franchise businesses, retail and retail development, in a career that spans more than 20 years in agri-wholesale and retail. He joined Hinterland in 2015 and is focussed on the establishment and enhancement of the Hinterland brand.

LOUIS LINGENFELDER

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Louis started his career in the Agri-sector as a sales rep at Boeresake. Thereafter he joined the Consolidated Wire Industry (CWI) as Sales Manager. In 2002 he joined Senwes as Area Client Services Manager and in 2004 became branch manager at the Senwes Kroonstad Branch. Louis joined the Hinterland team in 2017 as Marketing Manager to focus on establishing and enhancing the Agri Business Managers portfolio. In February 2018 Louis is appointed Operations Manager and his primary objective is to establish Hinterland as the leader in the agrimarket.

WIMPIE MULLER

MERCHANDISE MANAGER

Wimpie brings three decades of experience to the team, having started his career in retail in the agri-environment in 1988. He started off as a sales clerk at the Klerksdorp Sentraalwes branch and was promoted to assistant buyer in 1992 and has since been part of the procurement team. Wimpie has made it his mission to streamline the central procurement function to create greater efficiency for both supplier and customer.

KEVIN SMIT

MANAGER INPUT SUPPLY

Kevin brings more than two decades of experience to the team, having started his career in the Mechanisation Department of Sentraalwes in 1991. He moved to purchasing in 1993, where he became chief buyer in the Chemical Department in 1995. Since then he has been involved in the fertiliser, seed, chemical and fuel markets. Kevin made it his mission to ensure that relationships between the branches and input suppliers are on a healthy level, ensuring greater value-add to suppliers and clients.

DERIK WOLMARANS

HEAD: FUEL DIVISION

Derik started his career with a major oil company in 1999. He gained vast experience through many varied roles on the retail and commercial side of the business before joining Hinterland in 2016. His mission going forward is to focus on optimising the existing network of fuel stations to better serve customers and embark on a brand expansion strategy.
